Update: The Direct Push deployment went very smooth

May 2, 2007

I have successfully delployed Direct Push on my boss’s Treo 700wx. This is what I had:

1) SBS 2003
2) Exchange 2003 SP2
3) GoDaddy SSL Certificate
4) A Treo 700/wx

And these resources:

Deploying Windows Mobile 5.0 with Windows Small Business Server 2003 (from Microsoft)
How to install a cheap GoDaddy.Com Certificate into SBS Premium (from ABC-Solutions.org)

If you follow the Microsoft article and the GoDaddy third-party certificate process PDF, it should work fine.

NOTE: Buying a third-party SSL Certificate from GoDaddy is the way to go.
1) It’s cheap!
2) You will not have any issues! (well, hopefully)

I am setting this up for a client tomorrow in downtown Phoenix and then for another one in Goodyear, AZ on Friday. Looking forward to it!

If anyone has any questions or comments on setting up Direct Push, please email me or comment to this post.
