We wouldn't let them take the drive with the tape in it. They gave us permission to take the tape out in any manner we liked - they didn't care about the state of the drive afterwards - a technicians dream...unfortunately the customer wanted to try it themselves :-( We used a screwdriver for ours – Dell couldn’t get the tape out the drive and gave us a new drive.
